Haitian Women Collective’s Accomplishments

On this International Women’s Day, The Haitian Women’s Collective is proud to be chosen as a Girls Opportunity Alliance partner to implement educational programming for girls in Haiti.

Through the work of two organizational members: in the north, ODID and C2C in the south of Haiti, we will build on girls’ educational programming.

In preparation for potential devastating impact, the members of HWC responded to COVID with prevention initiatives throughout Haiti:

  • Conducted community outreach to local communities
  • Training local leaders including health care workers
  • Using social media and radio to inform with expert medical participation
  • Developed educational materials that are easy to read, using graphics in Kreyol
