HWC responds to Crisis by supporting local women led organizations

With the growing humanitarian crisis in Haiti, we decided to hold a few strategy meetings with partners to support them, stay in communication and get insight how to best work together.

Our Crisis Response

  • Hire additional staff person in Haiti to support a focus on advocating for the well-being of women and girls and the organizations in our Collective
  • Provide our organizational leaders with mental health group counseling – We started group counseling with human rights advocates.
  • Purchase tech items (phones, tablets, chargers) for our partners in Haiti to support their communication needs while supporting the local Haitian economy – In progress
  • Sourcing local businesses for items needed by our partner communities
  • Prioritizing sexual and reproductive health access
